Adding New Axis Cameras to the NVR

Overview

 ● The NVR can detect Axis camera on the local network, making it easier to add them as long as they are powered up and reachable.

● Deleting a camera wipes all recordings for that camera from the NVR.  A warning is provided explaining this when you delete a camera.

Adding a new camera

1. Launch Axis Camera Station Client. 

2. Go to Configuration – Devices – Add devices. 

3. The NVR will search the local network.  This may take a minute.  You may need to click the Refresh button. 

4. Non-Axis cameras may also show up. 

5. For Axis Cameras click Enter Password under Status. 

6. Username: root 

7. Password: bjAxisCam 

8. Click Ok 

9. Rename the camera to something useful. 

10. Click to highlight the camera you want to add. 

11. Click Add at the bottom. 

12. Choose Quick Configuration, and click Next. 

13. Leave Retention Time at 90 days 

14. Leave Recording storage at Automatic. 

15. Set Recording Method to Continuous. 

16. Click Install. 

17. Installation can take a couple minutes. 

18. Click License Now if prompted.  Licenses are pre-installed on the NVR. 

19. Configure User Permissions, custom views, and motion detection alarms for this camera as needed. 

Deleting cameras 

1. Launch Axis Camera Station Client. 

2. Go to Configuration – Devices – Cameras 

3. Highlight the camera you want to delete. 

4.. Click Remove. 

Note: This will delete all recordings for that camera
